Abstract
Two macaque monkeys learned to adjust a small il?luminated spot to threshold intensity. Then, while light adapted, they "tracked" their thresholds for stimuli spaced across the visible wavelength spectrum. Photopic spectral sensitivity functions were determined for each S[subject] from these threshold records. As in humans, sensitivity increased to a maximum and then decreased with increasing wavelength, fa the short-wavelength end of the spectrum, monkeys'' functions were relatively higher than the standard CIE human photopic function. Keywords
