Abstract
We study the effects of Landau level mixing on the critical properties of plateau transitions in the quantum Hall effect. Combining numerical results with analytical arguments, we conclude that for noninteracting electrons the universality class of the plateau transition is unchanged in the presence of a strong Landau level mixing. Keywords
