Abstract
Proteinuric hypertension is an important cause of maternal and perinatal mortality. Eclampsia cannot always be prevented. The likelihood of identifying a new case of proteinuric hypertension at any particular visit is very low using traditional antenatal care schedules, and care could be focused on women at higher risk. Keywords
