Abstract
[male] and [female] rats fed with 0.5% thiourea for 12 or more days and exposed for 2 hrs. to pressures of 200 mm. Hg (32000 ft.) survived the reduction of atmospheric pressure whereas most untreated controls succumbed. Treatment by inj. 5 hrs. prior to exposure was without benefit. The thyroid wt. increased with duration of thiourea treatment. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
