Abstract
This report is a clinical analysis of 20 patients with anuria due to CCl4 intoxication. There were 16 males and 4 females. Intoxication by inhalation occurred in 16, by ingestion in 4. Sixteen patients consumed large amounts of alcohol for a period of months or years. All 4 patients with intoxication by ingestion suffered severe liver involvement. Five of the 16 patients with intoxication by inhalation had no demonstrable liver involvement. Nausea and vomiting were the earliest and most common symptoms and occurred usually within hours of exposure. Anuria persisted from one to 15 days. There were 5 deaths. Keywords
