Virus Growth and Cellular Energy Production: Effect of Substances Chemically Related to Thyroxin on Influenza Virus.

Abstract
Butyl 3,5-diiodo-4-hydroxy-benzoate, a substance which uncouples phosphorylation from oxidation, has effects very similar to dinitrophenol in inhibiting the growth of influenza virus in tissue cultures and deSmbryonated eggs.
