Abstract
Dog studies indicate that guanethidine causes acute myocardial stimulation. The agent significantly decreases the concentration of norepinephrine in cardiac and aortic tissues of dogs; however, plasma levels of catecholamines are not altered during the acute stimulation. Isolated rabbit hearts, display myocardial stimulation and release norepinephrine when injected with this agent. Keywords
