Abstract
Because plant inoculations are considered unreliable for the identification of Ps. malvacearum, serological reactions were employed. Antisera were prepared by giving rabbits intravenous injections of a suspension of the culture. Agglutination reactions with this serum and a number of strains of the organism, isolated from different sources, showed the agglutination test to be a simple, highly specific and reliable method for identifying the organism.
