Abstract
A method for the estimation of bromine in 5 cc. of normal blood is described. Precipitation of protein is followed by ignition of the filtrate with potash, treatment with a chromic-sulphuric acid mixture of specific oxidation potential, and removal of the bromine formed by aeration into starch-iodide mixture. An accuracy of 2[gamma] for amounts of 5-1000[gamma] Br is reported. The relative merits of ignition and precipitation technique are critically discussed. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
