Abstract
A simple apparatus for oxygenation of blood is descr. When blood is aerated, 15-60 min. is usually required for 98-100% oxygenation. The previous observations of frequent small deficiencies in O2 capacities were confirmed. If blood has been freshly oxygenated and then deoxygenated, in vacuo, only 5 min. aeration is required for reoxygenation as in the titanous citrate or tartrated method for total Hb. Good agreement is observed between total Fe and total Hb or O2 capacity after 60 min. aeration.
