Abstract
The electric dipole cross section for γ(d, p)n is examined, assuming no forces in P3 states. The nonvanishing D-state probability PD of deuteron gives rise to the isotropic part ae in angular distribution of the photoproton: dσdω=ae+besin2θ. It turns out, however, that the resulting value for ae is still small to explain the experimental cross section, even if PD is as large as 8 percent.
