SKIN HISTAMINE TEST IN SCHIZOPHRENIA

Abstract
A skin histamine test which differentiates between schizophrenics and non-schizophrenics has been described. In comparison with non-schizophrenics, schizophrenics show delayed and weaker skin reaction to intradermal application of histamine. The reaction to histamine is characteristic for schizophrenia. The theoretical implications of these findings have been discussed.
