On the Palatini method of variation

Abstract
The Palatini method of variation is compared with the Hilbert method for symmetric metrics and affine connections. It is found that the two methods are in general inequivalent. The Hilbert method is recommended as being more general.This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
