Mössbauer Measurements on Magnetic Anisotropy in Thin Films of Iron

Abstract
The Mössbauer technique was used for magnetic anisotropy measurements in thin iron films prepared under various conditions, from which complementary information can be obtained. The average direction of magnetization for two different heater geometries was found to be 58.5° and 44.5°, relative to the normal to the plane of the film. The relation of the Mössbauer results to observations by other methods is discussed.
