Abstract
Fusarium nivale (Fr.) Ces. is the cause of snow mould on turf and of a foot rot and seedling blight in cereals. Its presence on cereals has not previously been recorded in New Zealand. Health tests were carried out at the Seed-Testing Station in Palmerston North on all cereal seeds thought to be carrying disease. F. nivale was isolated from one seed sample each of wheat, barley, and ryecorn.
