Abstract
Ultrastructural characteristics of one cell type contained in the M-2 line derived from the buffy coat of a patient with chronic myelogenous leukemia are described. Herpes-like particles found in approximately 5% of this cell type are compared with particles described from Burkitt lymphoma lines and the RPMI 64–10 line derived from a patient with acute myelogenous leukemia. The significance of nuclear and mitochondrial changes accompanying viral infection is discussed. Virus associated with the M-2 line is morphologically indistinguishable from that of several Burkitt lymphoma and RPMI 64–10 lines. Keywords
