Abstract
The theory of multiple scattering of neutrons is developed in cases of interest for diffraction experiments. Computations of second-order scattering for various plane slab sample arrangements are carried out, under a quasi-isotropic cross-section assumption. The relevance of recent computations by Chandrasekhar is pointed out, and these are also applied to the present problem. Keywords
