Abstract
Rats were rewarded for making a bar-pressing response every 60 seconds. Test trials conducted by introducing the bar at shorter intervals disclosed a gradient of response latencies for the shorter intervals. Under reduced motivation, response latencies increased at all test intervals with the gradient becoming steeper. Keywords
