Abstract
We compare the recent experimental data of Goldmann, Tejeda, Shevchik, and Cardona for the charge transfer in the copper halides and AgI with the predictions of the bond-orbital model. The predictions are in agreement with the experimental results in contrast to the predictions of the Phillips—Van Vechten ionicity theory. Keywords
