Abstract
The reflectance and optical constants of evaporated copper and silver were measured in vacuum on freshly deposited films in the wavelength region from 1000 to 2000 Å. The optical constants were determined from reflectance measurements made at various angles of incidence. Aging studies showed that the reflectance of evaporated copper in the vacuum ultraviolet decreased after its deposition in vacuum and during exposure to air much more rapidly than that of evaporated silver.
