Carcinoma of the Right Colon

Abstract
THIS study is based on 242 patients who were operated on between 1930 and 1950 for carcinoma of the right colon. This group includes patients with carcinoma of the cecum, the ascending colon and the hepatic flexure. Judging from a previous study1 of 1457 patients with cancer of the large bowel and rectum, this group represents approximately 12.76 per cent of all patients with cancer of the colon and rectum. Carcinomas at any point in the ascending colon, including the hepatic flexure, may properly be grouped with carcinomas of the cecum, as all these lesions tend to metastasize to lymph . . .
