Abstract
Impact shocks occurring during the expansion phase of a closed‐cycle refrigerator cause large excursions in the output frequency of a diode laser. We have characterized these frequency instabilities by observing their effects on spectra, and have reduced these effects to less than observable (corresponding to frequency deviations <5 MHz).Keywords
