Abstract
IN 1955, we reported the successful transplantation of a kidney from a healthy twenty-three-year-old man to his monozygotic twin who was terminally ill with chronic renal failure. At that time we concluded: "Tissue transplantation including that of a functioning kidney appears to be a feasible procedure in identical twins but to date successful permanently functioning homografts appear to be limited to such individuals."1 It is the purpose of this paper to report the functional survival of a transplanted kidney whose donor was a fraternal, not an identical, twin.Since 1955 in this laboratory, kidneys have been successfully transplanted between 9 . . .Keywords
