Abstract
Tetrahydrobenzimidazoles, on treatment with dimethyldioxirane, rearrange to provide 5-imidazolones exclusively. These rearrangements proceed with a broad range of substrates and with good to excellent levels of diastereoselectivity. [reaction: see text]Keywords
