Abstract
An equation governing the friction pressure tensor is derived from the Kirkwood-Smoluchowski equation where terms, nonlinear in the shear rate, are taken into account. The ensuing non-Newtonian viscosity and normal pressure differences are presented for a (stationary) plane Couette flow. Keywords
