Abstract
A method was described for determining the number of quanta which the visual purple must absorb in order that light be perceived. This number is deduced from statistic data based on observation of sudden flashes, without having to know about the fraction of the light absorbed by the visual purple. A theoretic formula is established which corresponds with the exptl. curve. Keywords
