Abstract
The structure recently observed by Vogler in the dissociation spectrum of the H3 molecule is attributed to the predissociation of the 2sA12 electronic state of H3 to H atoms and various vibration-rotation levels of the ground electronic state of H2. The process H3(2sA12,v=0)H2(XΣg+1,v=J=0)+H(1sS2) is found to be exothermic by 5.52 eV.
