Measurements of theπ+p→π+pπ0Cross Section from 0.5 to 1.5 GeV/c

Abstract

We have measured with counters the cross section for ${\pi }^{+}p\to {\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{0}p$ reaction from 0.5 to 1.5 GeV/c. This cross section increases rapidly between 600 and 900 MeV/c to reach 10 mb. Using our results we have also calculated the ${\pi }^{+}p\to {\pi }^{+}{\pi }^{+}n$ cross section.
