Abstract
The liberation of organic bases from their insoluble salts with various precipitants may be accomplished by adsorption of the precipitants on wool in neutral or acid soln. One gm. of wool adsorbs 0.196 gm. rufianic, 0.190 gm. flavianic, 0.140 gm. picric, and 0.180 gm. picrolonic acid, in 48 hrs. at 37[degree]. The adsorption treatment is especially recommended for the isolation of bases of biological activity showing instability to alkali and oxidation.
