Abstract
Nucleate and enucleate amoebae were incubated with adenine-8-C14. The incorporation of this precursor into cytoplasmic RNA was determined autoradiographically. The results indicate that there is a cytoplasmic incorporation mechanism which can operate in the absence of the nucleus. The question of the nuclear origin of some but not all cytoplasmic RNA in Amoeba and Acetabularia is discussed. Keywords
