Abstract
A ferrite frequency doubler in the microwave range with a conversion efficiency of 5% to an external second harmonic load, for an input power of 300 w, is described. The design of this 8.5 to 17 Gc converter is based upon theoretical and experimental work reported earlier. A design diagram was drawn from the equation determining efficiency as a function of χ0″ and hω and experimental curves of χ0″ vs hω for various materials. From this diagram, the optimum material for a given input power was determined. In the case treated, single crystal manganese ferrite was optimum. Keywords
