Radiation-Induced Coronary Artery Disease

Abstract
A 35-year-old woman developed symptoms of severe angina pectoris 19 months after radiotherapy to the mediastinum. The patient was shown to have extensive coronary artery disease by coronary angiography. Extensive exposure of the heart to radiation may pose an additional risk factor for the development of coronary vessel disease. (JAMA 228:1660-1662, 1974)
