Pseudotumoral Lipomatosis of the Abdomen

Abstract

Two cases of lipomatosis of the abdomen presented as extramural tumors were identified by gastrointestinal Ba studies or lymphangiography. Computed tomography provided direct evaluation of these masses and proved that they were due to lipomatosis rather than other tumoral disease. Surgical exploration was thereby obviated in both patients, one of whom was considered a poor surgical risk.
