Observation ofY*+(1385)K+andN*++(1236)ρ0Decays of a Nucleon Resonance

Abstract
An analysis of pp interactions at 6 BeV/c indicates the presence of a T=32 nucleon resonance with mass near 2.0 BeV/c2, with decay modes Y*++(1385)K+, N*++(1236)ρ0, and N*++(1236)π+π. A peripheral production model for the reaction ppnN*++(1950) gives excellent agreement with the data, with a cross section for N*++(1950) production and subsequent decay into Y*+K+ of 13±3 μb.
