A Further Study of Karling's Keratinophilic Organism

Abstract
Electron micrographs show a single polar flagellum on the spores of a keratinophilic organism which Karling isolated in 1954 and assigned provisionally to the family Actinoplanaceae of the Actinomycetales. What appears to be a different but related sp. was isolated from soil samples baited with human hair. It is characterized by cylindrical sporangia borne on long, slender stalks. The sporangia contain rod-shaped spores in long filaments. Electron micrographs show these spores to be motile, with a single polar flagellum.
