Abstract
The degeneration of nerve fibers in the lateral-line nerve of Ameiurus progressed from the cut in the nerve peripherally and did not take place simultaneously as it appears to do in the nerves of warm-blooded animals The degeneration, as judged by changes in the medullary sheath, was at an approximate rate of 2 cm. per day when the fishes were kept at 18[degree] C. and was best seen at 14 days. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
