Nuclear magnetic resonance studies on fluorine-containing compounds. Part IV. Solutions of niobium(V) in hydrogen fluoride

Abstract

¹⁹ F n.m.r. studies have shown that NbOF₅ ^2– is present in solutions of Nb^v containing up to 30% HF and that NbF₆ ^– is present when the HF concentration is more than 30%. Another ion, probably the NbF₇ ^2– ion, is present in 95–100% HF solutions.
