Abstract
30 rabbits were given repeated injns. of a pneumococcus vaccine. 15 of these were treated with cortisone. The cortisone-treated group reacted with less of a febrile response on all of 3 occasions than did the untreated control rabbits. Employing a standardized pyrogen assay test with pseudomonas pyrogen, cortisone was again found to have an antipyretic effect. Keywords
