Abstract
The authors first present some general comments on Ancor Communications, Inc.'s view of the requirements for a next-generation communications system. They then present a brief outline of the Fibre Channel Standard, followed by a description of the CXT/1000, a switching system which is being developed to implement the Fibre Channel Standard. The CXT system is a two-dimensional hybrid of circuit switching and frame switching technologies, which provides both high-throughput and low-latency data transport services.> Author(s) Anderson, T.M.
