Lanthanides and group III metal triflates (especially La, Sm) accelerate the Baylis–Hillman reaction (reaction between an unsaturated ester and aldehyde catalysed by DABCO, for example) and further acceleration can be obtained upon addition of diol ligands such as binol. Keywords
