Abstract
Ten barbiturates were subjected to 1-dimensional paper chromatography using an ascending system of n-butanol saturated with 5 [image] NH4OH and Whatman No. 1 filter paper. Reagents are descr. for location of the spots after chromatography. Final identification rests on the Rf value and the reaction used for location of the areas. Rf values are given for Amytal, Dial, Evipal, Nembutal, Neonal, Ortal, Pentothal, phenobarbital, and Seconal. Keywords
