Abstract
The chemical control of polar organ formation root segments of Convolvulus arvensis was investigated. Treatments of cultured segments with auxins and cyto-kinins showed that both the number of lateral roots and endogenous buds, and their position along the segment axis, could be predictably controlled. The results were interpreted as evidence for the existence of acropetal polar movement of auxin in these roots.This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
