Abstract
When eyes are allowed to remain in the rabbit cadavers at room temperature with the eyelids closed, the corneal stroma shows evidence of abnormal oxygen consumption six hours after death and the whole-corneal oxygen consumption becomes abnormal 18 hours after death. The abnormal oxygen consumption is postponed when the lids are held open and the physiological significance of the findings are discussed.This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
