Abstract
Measurements of the Soret effect have been made with the Savart interferometer, utilizing a double exposure technique for increased sensitivity. Data are reported on different concentrations of cadmium sulfate in water, the lowest concentration giving a difference of optical path between top and bottom of the order of one wavelength in the stationary state. The technique should be capable of giving data from solutions a few thousandths molal in cadmium sulfate. Keywords
