Distribution of the Acrasiae in Kansas Grasslands

Abstract

Three species of the Acrasiae are added to the checklist of species obtained from grassland soils. A definite correlation was established indicating that as much as 80 % of the soil samples taken from soil beneath ungrazed big and little bluestem yielded isolates, whereas soil samples from grazed bluestem and short grasses yielded 10 % or less.
