Dependence of the binary ionic recombination coefficient on the density of ambient gas at the low density limit

Abstract

Using a simple model it is demonstrated that the gradient of a graph showing the rate coefficient for mutual neutralisation as a function of the number density of the ambient gas tends to infinity as the number density tends to zero.
