Abstract
Oxidation of crude porcine, ovine or bovine LH-contaminated TSH preparations of pituitary origin for one hour at pH 5.5 and room temperature results in an apparent selective inactivation of the LH contaminent. Partially purified ovine TSH preparations behave similarly. In the case of partially purified bovine TSH, however, the decreased LH activity is accompanied by a significant loss of TSH activity.
