Abstract
An abbreviated version of the Barrett-Lennard Relationship Inventory was administered to a random sample of 83 rural married couples to evaluate the dimensionality of the measure in terms of regard, empathy, and congruence. The results of a principal components analysis of husband and wife responses provide moderate, though tentative, support for the expected dimensionality of the abbreviated inventory. Keywords
