Abstract
Measurements of stored energy, electrical resistivity, density and hardness on gold and silver deformed 75% in compression are presented, and compared with previous results for copper. It is shown that the resistivity of a dislocation calculated from the experimental results differs very little in copper, silver and gold, although their stacking-fault energies are now considered to differ widely. This suggests that stacking faults do not make an important contribution to the resistivity of deformed metals. Keywords
