Coroporpphyrin Studies in Children. I. Urinary Coproporphyrin Excretion in Normal Children.

Abstract

The urinary coproporphyrin excretion on 24-hr, urine collections was detd. on a group of normal healthy boys aged 6 to 16 by the new improved method. The urinary coproporphyrin level correlates closer with body wt. than with age or surface area. The urine coproporphyrin excretion in children is probably abnormal if the detn. in a 24-hr, collection is twice the standard deviation above the mean for the group the individual belongs to by wt.
